This is Wall Street II

Course Overview:
Welcome to Wall Street II!  This half-year course is designed to give you an advanced look into the exciting world of investments.  Wall Street II builds on students’ prior knowledge base of the fundamentals of how a market economy functions.  Students will learn about common stocks and how they relate to America's business structure, how and why a company issues stock, investment guidelines, stock exchanges and elements relating to investing, beyond the stock markets.  These concepts will be analyzed through various aspects of business to examine the impact they have on investments and the economy.  The exploration of these topics will be studied and applied in an active, “hands-on” participative environment, through class projects, current events, the stock market Internet simulation contest, and general classroom lectures.  College note taking and project presentation skills will be learned and applied.  The class concludes with a written final exam during exam week.  Members of the class may elect to take the course for 3 college credits from SUNY Farmingdale College.
